Ankit Tiwari is an Indian playback singer, live performer, music director, and composer. His career began with Pradeep Sarkar where he worked on jingles. Subsequently, he was offered to compose music for Do Dooni Chaar (2010) and Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster (2011), where he started his singing career with the song he composed. In an exclusive interview with Bollywood Bubble, Ankit Tiwari expresses his love and respect for Arijit Singh and comments on their comparison.

When asked about his relationship with Arijit Singh, Ankit Tiwari answered, “Our relationship is of music. Our bond is not one of friendship or being best buddies, but we are like brothers. There is a mutual respect that has existed from the beginning and continues to this day. I know that he holds respect for me in his heart, just as I do for him. And we are both aware of this shared admiration. Arijit commands a unique kind of love and respect, not just in India but worldwide. The bond we share revolves entirely around music.”

The singer said, “Occasionally, we exchange ideas or songs over the phone—if I like something, I send it to him, and he does the same for me. However, we meet very rarely; it’s not that we haven’t met, but our meetings are infrequent. When it comes to comparisons, I believe they are misplaced. Arijit has an extensive body of work with countless songs, whereas my repertoire is much smaller in comparison. Therefore, any comparison is unwarranted because the scale and pace of our journeys are entirely different.”

He concluded, “At this stage, I feel that what he is doing is absolutely right because he is trying to avoid the obvious or predictable. The kind of songs he has been delivering recently reflect a touch of experimentation and artistry. Arijit Singh, as an artist, has a distinct style of composition and song creation. His approach is not about making songs to please others but rather about his own satisfaction. He creates music that resonates with him, and that’s the simple reason behind his work.”
